A 6-foot-3 shooting guard from East St. Louis, Gilbert remains the ninth-leading scorer in Bradley Basketball history with 1,689 career points, the most by any Brave in the quarter century between Hersey Hawkins and Walt Lemon, Jr. Boasting a career scoring average of 15.4 points per game, Gilbert led the Missouri Valley Conference in scoring with 18.9 points per game as a junior in 2002-03. He is one of 10, three-time All-MVC selections in Bradley Basketball history, earning first-team honors in 2003, second-team notice in 2002 and honorable mention in 2004, despite missing more than half of the conference schedule that season with a broken foot. Gilbert, who remains fourth in program history with 233 career 3-pointers, went on to play professionally in Germany, France and New Zealand and he now serves as the varsity boys basketball head coach at East St. Louis High School.
