Sommerville was a 3-time All-Missouri Valley Conference performer at Bradley, earning first-team recognition in 2004 and 2005 and second-team honors in 2006 when he led the Braves to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. Sommerville averaged 16.2 points per game during his three-year Bradley career for the ninth-best career scoring average in program history. The only player to finish among the The Valley's top five in scoring and rebounding during each of his three seasons, Sommerville graduated as the 12th-leading scorer in Bradley history with 1,493 career points. He also became the first-ever MVC player to record at least 600 rebounds (662) and 150 3-pointers (153) during a 3-year period. Sommerville is a 12-year veteran of overseas professional basketball, including eight seasons in France's top division. He has three times been selected all-league in the France ProA (2012 second team; 2008 and 2013 honorable mention) and he helped Cholet Basket to the 2010 France ProA championship. He also earned second-team All-Argentinian LigaA recognition during his lone season in South America with Regatas Corrientes in 2014-15. Leading Always A Brave to the TBT 2016 Midwest Region title, Sommerville was named to the all-tournament team after averaging 21.2 points and 7.0 rebounds in the five tourney games.
