Barry Aberdeen has been a stigma in the Washington D.C. area for the basketball community. He has helped players use there athletic abilities to receive college scholarships and to play professional basketball overseas. In 2017, Barry worked with the longest standing Allstar game,The Capital Classics. He helped solidify Body Armor sports drink and Gold's Gym as a sponsors for the game. As far as coaching, most recently, Barry was one of the assistant coaches at Edison High School in Fairfax, VA. As an assistant coach, he helped in player development and incorporated offseason workouts for the team. In his two seasons at Edison, the Eagles had a record of 52 wins-5 losses. The team won 2 Conference Championships, 2 Regional Championships and reached 2 State Semifinals. During the summer, Barry has coached in the legendary Goodman Summer League held at Barry Farms in Washington, D.C. for a number of seasons. He also coaches his team in the Nike Pro City Kenner League held at Georgetown University. In the summer of 2016 his team won the championship in this league and was the runner up in 2015. Past players have included 2015 National Champion Josh Hart, Tre Kelly (South Carolina /NBA/ NBDL),Marcus Ginyard (North Carolina/Overseas), Tyler Cavanaugh(Atlanta Hawks), Marcus Thornton (William and Mary / 2015 Boston Celtics 2nd round draft pick), Mo Sutton (Largo / Villanova), Brian Leggett (Barton College / G-league), Matt Hart (George Washington), Jaren Sina (France), and many other top players. Barry has helped many male and female players land contracts to play professional basketball overseas. This year he has helped place players in Bosnia, Germany, Finland, Qatar and Romania. Barry has also played in Germany, Lithuania and Mexico
