Armored Athlete to give Indiana fans something to root for this summer

Christian Watford sank a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to defeat No. 1 Kentucky on December 10, 2011. The upset win re-invigorated the program and the momentum carried over to the '12-'13 season, as Watford and the Hoosiers earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and reached the Sweet 16.

This summer, Watford will play again with two former Indiana teammates, Jordan Hulls and Will Sheehey, in The Basketball Tournament. On May 17, Watford became the third Hoosier to sign with Armored Athlete. providing Indiana fans with a mini reunion this July. Watford and Hulls started on the Sweet 16 team alongside Victor OladipoCody Zeller and Yogi Ferrell while Sheehey served as the sixth man.

Indiana fans have Armored Athlete GM AJ Mahar to thank. After graduating from St. Joseph’s College (Indiana), where he played Division II hoops, Mahar moved to Florida, which is where he met Sheehey, who at the time was a promising recruit. Years later, after seeing information about TBT pop up on social media, Mahar reached out to Sheehey, who in turn recruited Hulls and Watford.

The Indiana teammates aren't the only ones reuniting on Armored Athlete, either. Malcolm Miller and David Dudzinski -- two Holy Cross alums -- will also re-unite after a year apart.

For those who can't wait for Hoosier Hysteria this fall, the mini IU reunion begins in the Midwest Regional (July 17-19) at DePaul University in Chicago.
