Notre Dame Fighting Alumni is comprised of individuals who have played for the University of Notre Dame Men's basketball team in the past ten years. If we win, we will donate $40k to charity.
Some of the best Fighting Irish basketball players of the last decade reunite to play for the Notre Dame Fighting Alumni, led by Chris Thomas. Thomas is easily one of the best players ever to play college basketball, having dished out 833 assists and scored over 2000 points, all without missing a single game. Following graduation, the standout point guard played all over Europe. Plenty of shooters will join Thomas, making him a frontrunner to lead TBT in assists.
SG Colin Falls, a 1st Team All Big East selection his senior year, SG Russell Carter, a 17.1 ppg scorer his senior year and a current pro in France, and Ryan Ayers, a rangy 6’7” SF with a deadly pull up 3 from the right side, all had career averages of over 40% from long-range during their time at Notre Dame.
Philadelphia native Rob Kurz is a key man on the blocks. Kurz has NBA experience with the Golden State Warriors (2009). He’ll partner with 6'11" C Torin Francis, the McDonald's Player of the Year coming out of high school who averaged 12.5/7.5 in the Turkish 1st division this past year and Tyrone Nash, a 6’8” high-energy rebounder and defensive stopper who plies his trade in Germany. Also helping out down low is Zach Hillesland, a 6’7” SF who captained Notre Dame his senior season. Helping out in the back-court is Tory Jackson, a tremendous assist man at ND and a former D-Leaguer. PG Paul Gause, a former Big East rival at Seton Hall, is the only non-Notre Dame alum on the roster and will complement and spell Thomas and Jackson at the point.
GM Kieran Piller, a former Notre Dame backup, deserves the credit for putting this highly competitive team together and will be helped with game management by coach Jordan Cornette, himself a former ND star.
