As President of OVG Collegiate, Dan Shell is building a new college strategy for Oak View Group with the focus on all aspects of monetization of collegiate facilities, including equity facility partnerships, naming rights, management, booking and other college solutions Before coming onboard with OVG, Shell served as Vice President of IMG College, assisting with many aspects of the college business, including national and local sponsorship sales, school relationships, and new business development. Previously, as Vice President of FOX Collegiate Sports Properties, Dan Shell was responsible for FOX’s strategic business development in the college space. He helped create and oversaw the entity that manage the multimedia rights of several collegiate properties including USC Athletics, Georgetown University, Michigan State University, and others, as well as operation of two Las Vegas college basketball tournaments owned by FOX. Shell came to FOX and USC Sports Properties from a first stint with IMG College, where he most recently served as Director of Regional Sales creating innovative partnerships for blue chip brands across multiple schools around the country. Prior to that, he served as IMG College General Manager of the West Coast Conference Corporate Partnership program. Before joining IMG College in 2008, Shell spent more than a decade in both coaching and administrative roles at several Division I schools. From 1998-99, he worked as the Men's Basketball administrative assistant at Pepperdine and then served as the Director of Men's Basketball Operations at the University of Oklahoma from 1999-2001. Shell then moved on to Saint Mary's College, where he served as the assistant Men's Basketball Coach from 2001-2008. Earlier in his career, he also briefly held an administrative role at Stanford University. Recognized for his influence in the sports media industry, Shell is a member of Sports Business Journal’s prestigious “Forty Under 40” Class of 2015. Shell earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a minor in Business Administration from the University of California. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife Sabrina and their three children.
